This waterfall is situated in Nerabailu village in Yerravaripalem mandal of chittoor district. It is about 50km distance from pileru, about 59km form Tirupathi, nearly 104km from chittoor, a distance of 220km from Chennai, about 250km distance from Bangalore (Bengaluru) and around 560km from Hyderabad.

Talakona is also known for the temple of Lord Siddheswara Swamy, the temple was built about 140 years ago, as per the beliefs of local people.

Talakona means in telugu “Head of Seshachalam Hills” as the name given for this  waterfall because it is in Seshachalam forest. These Seshachalam Hills are the mountains of Tirumala Mountain Range starting point.

Talakona forest hosts different species of animals, major tress of sandal wood and some of the medicinal Plants.

The water of Talakona waterfall, are enriched with herbs and it has diseases healing properties. There is a trekking route which leads to top of the hill. According to the local villagers, it is difficult to trace the origin of this waterfall.
